Tiny Mail

October 26, 2026

is all we can send from here. fold up
into yourself. smaller. shove your—
self through the slot. don’t fit? fold
tighter. don’t forget to buy stamps.
stamps make the cost of sending you
anywhere worth it. once you’re there,
behave. we mean it. you’re marked
with where you’re from. don’t let
anyone know that we sent you if
you’re going to be this way. don’t
unfold out of yourself, don’t warm
your ink in the sun. don’t sprawl
and reveal your pages to shaking hands
eager to know your words. don’t dance
away in the first gust of wind off the sea
when winter has broken, and life begun.

Olivia O'Toole is a writer from Michigan, so she knows what it's like to grow up in the palm of someone's hand. She concerns herself primarily with poetry and fantasy because she loves casting spells.
