Ownership & Intellectual Property
All published work remains the intellectual property of its author. You may not reproduce or redistribute content from this site without explicit permission from the author and Usawa Literary Review.
Submissions
Submissions are read in line with our editorial vision. Acceptance is selective and not guaranteed — we read everything, but we cannot publish everything.
By submitting, you confirm that:
- —The work is original and written by you
- —You hold the rights to it
- —It does not infringe upon anyone else’s intellectual property
If your work is accepted:
- —You grant Usawa the right to publish and archive it across our platforms
- —Specific rights — first publication, reprints, translations — will be outlined in our submission guidelines or your acceptance correspondence
Community Responsibility
We take harm seriously. We reserve the right to remove content that is abusive, exploitative, or submitted in bad faith, and to refuse or withdraw publication if ethical concerns arise — before or after acceptance.
Payments
If compensation is offered, details will be communicated upon acceptance. Our payment policies may evolve as the magazine grows, and we will be transparent about any changes.

We may restrict access to users who violate these terms or act against the spirit of this space — which is to say, against the dignity and safety of the people who make it.
