Open Call · Trans & Queer Issue Queer Unfiltered Emotions, Moments & Journeys

A world beyond heteronormativity is not entirely imaginary — it already exists in moments of queer joy, in chosen families, in radical care, in resistance, in becoming. Queer Unfiltered hopes to gather these fragments: part archive, part sanctuary, part blueprint for more liberated futures.

Literary Review · Issue 15 · Summer ’26 Usawa Literary Review Refuse — Out of place. Still here. Not going anywhere.

Poetry, fiction, nonfiction, interviews, book reviews, translations and visual narratives — through caste and gender, ecology and the body, disgust and endurance.

Monthly Magazine · Rolling Submissions Matchbox by Usawa Get lit. Monthly.

Monthly Column · Matchbox by Usawa × SheThePeople The Monthly Dissent Dispatch Unpopular opinion incoming.

A note on payments: We offer an honorarium of INR 1,000 (one thousand Indian rupees) for each contribution selected for publication in the Usawa Literary Review (ULR) issues. This honorarium applies only to works published in ULR and is subject to our ability to process the payment. At present, we are able to make payments to Indian bank accounts. If you are based outside India, payment options may vary depending on your location and available transfer methods, and we will discuss these with you should your work be accepted for publication. Contributors may also choose to waive the honorarium.
