YOU, CONQUEROR. Read Single →
Bare me. Butterfly-pin my struggling limbs to a metal table. Paralyse me. Staple my lips. Observe me microscopically. Scornfully pinch the lumps of fat. Scratch along the stretch marks. Sneer at the wiry black hair on my arms, under my arms, on my legs, between my legs. Unhold your disgust.
Get a pair of pliers. Start from a thumb. Yank the nail off. Off, off. One by one. Ten fingers. Ten toes. Let the blood pool in the shallow craters. Next, tweezers. Pluck my 3hair, all of it. Let the pinpricks of pain burn like wildfire across the lengths of my body. The hairs on my head—dry, thinning—trap them in your fists. Pull, pull. Run them over my body, use them as incense. Watch me, an adult newborn.
Jab a knife into my soft tummy. Flay my skin. Peel it off layer by epidermal layer. Whittle me down to reds and whites. Rend my sinews, rend my sinews. Crush my greedy stomach underfoot. Unravel my intestines and measure the Earth with them. Pulp my liver and kidneys. Pop my lungs like balloons. Place my unused uterus at the feet of God. Weep over its refusal to bear fruit. Cradle my heart in your palms. Suck out the blood with your mouth. Place the foolish organ on your tongue. Chew, chew. Savour the taste of failed rebellion.
Break my bones. Break every bone. Play the piano on my ribs. Use my spine like a saber, duel against what is left of me. Mortar and pestle, grind my bones to dust. Take a hammer to my skull, crack it open like a coconut. Snatch my brain. Pummel it. Dice it. Mince it. Bin it. Laugh, laugh.
My hateful eyes, pierce them with needles. My soul, choke it. Rip it apart.
Erase me. Unmake me. Make me anew. Marionette me.
Stuff my head with obedience. Inflate my heart with subservience. Flood every crevice with fear. Sew me up with pretty.
Rid me of me.
I am your Barbie.
Do you feel powerful yet?
